Yesterday I was able to pick up a free Shark book at Borders, and it was just the latest book in my hunt for shark and animal books for my three-year-old son. I try to get my boys books every year for their birthday and Christmas, but buying books at the bookstore sure is expensive. I usually try to get them one new book each, and then I go hunting at the thrift store.
We have a huge thrift store that is located between our house and my oldest son's school, and once in a while I go there to find books for the boys' birthday/Christmas book baskets.
On Friday we had a little time before pick up time, and I lucked out big time. Apparently they had just gotten a bunch of books in from a teacher, and I house clearance st albans picked out a few books for my three-year old's upcoming birthday. My son Sky is a beach boy, and he is obsessed with sharks and other animals found in Florida.
I was able to get him two brand new books:
Sharks: Free from Borders Reg. $1.99
Amazing Sharks I bought at Amazon.com with a gift certificate from Swagbucks. It cost me $3.99 before gift card.
A few weeks ago I spent $1 on a manatee book from the library book sale.
On Friday I picked up the following books (in excellent condition) at the thrift store for 42 cents each, a deal that is difficult to beat.
